Moving to a content managment system

Two day course

What you will learn:

This course is about moving your church web site across to a database based content management system. It assumes that you are moving to the Joomla system but the course can be tailored to other systems if required. It also assumes that the Joomla system is already set up and a template produced for the Joomla System. If you don't have this then we can arrange it for you.

The course will be very practical and includes:

• Understanding the difference between a static and content managed system
• Understanding the advantages and disadvantes to the two systems
• How to move content (as well as actually doing it)
• How to use the editing system
• Understanding the difference between administrators, editors and users of content management systems?
• Adding a new module (as well as understanding what a module is)
• Setting up the menu system
• Using images online

Churches who are moving from a static web site to a content management system. Anyone who is going to become a web site editor or web master for the church. Anyone who wants to learn how to use the Joomla system.
