I am often asked what tools I use/would recommend for church web masters. Well I guess most of us want tools that are not going to break the bank and yet are powerful enough do whatever we want.
Komposer - FREE Web Editing Software. An excellent program for those who need to design and edit church websites. It brings a wealth of features but its not too complex that its tough to use. Great for those on a tight budget.
Picasa - FREE image software from Google. This is a good program to help with the basics of web image editing. You can resize images and optimise for the web.
Photoimpact - Top notch image creation and editing software for those on a budget. This is a very powerful piece of kit and offers a range of features only usually found in software much more expensive. I highly recommend this one.
Namo Web Editor - Good quality editor with lots of fancy features but ones that won't upset your html like some others do (I'm too polite to mention any names here).
Topstyle - CSS editor. Very powerful and good quality lets you see what you are doing without having to keep refreshing the web site.
Ultra Edit - Excellent and powerful text editor for all those php and programming jobs you have to do.
Color Wheel Pro - a program that allows you to see color theory in action: you can create harmonious color schemes and preview them on real-world examples. I haven't used it on this site yet but will for the redesign.
